“What are you eating?” I asked Jolene, looking at the heap of food laid out before her in the carryout tray.
“Poutine,” she answered around a mouthful of the mess.
“And what,” I asked. “Is this Poo-Teen you speak of? It looks revolting.”
“Oh, it’s delicious,” she was full of glee, a drooly mess of gravy on her chin. “It’s fries covered in gravy and cheese. It’s the best. So unhealthy, but soooo good. Want some?”
“No!” I shrank back from her. “I can’t eat that.”
“Health kick?”
“Nope. Just can’t eat anything with the word ‘poo’ in the name.”
