Snickers

Post by Varda » Sun May 19, 2013 2:59 pm

When I was young, kids picked on me. It figures; I lisped and enjoyed reading French philosophers. To cope, I made up Snickers: a deathray-shooting flying tiger who devoured bullies and spat out candy.

Eventually I outgrew Snickers, but not the bullies.

Years later, I joined the Navy and got my first submarine assignment. On my first day underwater, the red alert sounded. I rushed to my station just in time to witness my jackass commanding officer disappearing down the maw of Snickers!

“Thnickerth!” I shouted. “What giveth?”

Spraying a hail of gumdrops, Snickers roared, “I SINK, THEREFORE I AM!”

Thus it is demonstrated that 100 words are just the right length for an elaborate set-up to a complex and painfully colorful pun. What St. Tom of the Pun is liable to do with this information is anyone's guess. Perhaps he will be occupied, and the apocalyptic danger shall fade. That almost never happens.

Yep, this was so ridiculously punny that it hurt even to write it. But I couldn't not-not-not write it, if you get me. My alien brain parasite was apparently calling the shots. I blame this one on Alan Smithee.

But tell me: did it make you... snicker? 8)

Do you remember what it's like to be tickled against your will?
It starts out playful, but can graduate to torture.
Same with puns.

I like the pun, but my favorite part was the hail of gumdrops.

Who doesn't like a hail of gumdrops?

Come to think of it...I don't know that I've ever had a gumdrop...

Yeah, but just the white chocolate part. I'm not big on Milk Chocolate. It's not easy to separate the layers.
