Blind date

Post by chemistryguy » Fri Jun 07, 2013 5:03 pm

The lime green cylinder drifted over to our table. “Good evening,” it pulsed, “would either of you be interested in a cocktail?”

I strained my ears to catch my date’s response, but the quickly shifting textures made it difficult. Uncertain how to respond, I nodded my head. The noxious odor that resulted was deafening.

“Perhaps sir is visiting Club Synesthesia for the first time, hmmmmm?” He undulated in a most pretentious manner and I could taste sour waves of mortification coming from my companion. I coughed to cover my embarrassment and promptly burst into flames. My date dissipated shortly thereafter.

Good use of wacky sensory details! Also like the "blind" part of "blind date"... hard to get a good look at her when those sensory pathways are crossed in your brain!

A bit of role-reversal here. Isn't Varda supposed to be writing the drabble on synesthesia?

I hadn't heard, but I'd read it.

*or rather, I'd smell it*
