Miscalculation

Post by PhineasQP » Fri Jun 21, 2013 12:05 am

Gene entered the temporal coordinates into the time machine, setting it for thirty minutes. He'd try traveling through centuries later, once he knew what he was doing. This short trip seemed safe for now.

If all went as planned, he would engage the device and find himself in the exact same place, one half hour in the future.

Taking a deep breath, Gene pushed the button—and instantly regretted it. He died gasping, eyes bulging, unable to even scream.

He had reappeared in that exact spot thirty minutes later. Unfortunately, the Earth was already pretty far away from that spot.
