The Summoning (Lovecraft-ish theme)

Post by PhineasQP » Fri Jun 21, 2013 7:46 pm

I listened with mounting horror, unable to intervene as she spoke the dreadful syllables I had so feared.

“Yes, Thursday is perfect, Mom.”

The fear swelled to horror and my blood began to chill.

“It’ll be so good to see both of you!”

My very sanity grew thin and weak, straining under the weight of those words; alien sounds they were that made no earthly sense.

“Nonsense, Jim doesn’t care. You two stay as long as you like. Give Dad my love and I’ll see you both in two days.”

No.

The mad fool had summoned The Grating Old Ones.

LOL... We can only pray that our actual in-laws are not Drabblecast fans!

New theory: only a robot could write such awesome drabbles. Ergo, Phineas must be a robot.

Is it odd that one of the nicest compliments I've ever gotten is one in which I'm accused of being a robot?

Heard it on the 'cast and I'm definitely stealing this for an upcoming family party!
