Weakened, tottering, barely able to stand, we stumbled from the room. Behind us lay the detritus of events earlier passed: survivors moaned, furniture creaked and groaned under the weight of the sufferers.

I rested my arms across the shoulders of the two who were with me, each of us moving slowly and steadily, supporting each and other. We shared a look, knowing that we were the lucky ones, the ones who escaped only slightly worse for wear.

Taking a deep breath of the clean air in the empty hallway felt good. Calculus exams completed, we left the school for summer.

AfterMath: Dr. B's answer to "pre"calculus! Very well-executed. Teh maths bring nothing but pain.

I liked this one very much. I'm not a math guy.
