Great Old One Witnesses (Lovecraft themed)

Post by Mikes » Fri Jul 12, 2013 1:06 am

The leaflet’s title read Acolyting and You above an elephant doing something awkward with an octopus.

“I don’t have time for Cth-Kf…”

Cthulhu, sir. And the question should be, how you could make time for him, and his thousand young; many of whom also have human form.”

He couldn’t put his finger on what was wrong with that sentence. "And you believe what?"

"Oh, we don’t believe. Believing is so modern religion. We know Great Cthulhu will return."

"And what does this knowing entail?"

“Waiting, mostly. At dawn we wait by the sea.”

I do like the seaside, he thought.

Love it. Great take, this made me giggle.

Also, you're from Australia? Can you get me the McDonalds Minions? They have some we don't have in Canada? I'll be your best friend...

Thanks guys. This is actually a really condensed version of a short story that's been sitting in my harddrive for the past few years that I just can't think of a punchline for. I managed to get it down from 1000 words to 130, but needed help shaving off the last 30. I think it helps if you read the dialogue in Dudley Moore and Peter Cook voices.

I don't live near the sea. Will one be supplied?

Loved this.
