Beth turned slowly around, seeking out the source of the whispered voice. On the bed behind her lay her husband, sound asleep. She wondered if he had spoken.

“Honey?” she called out tentatively, her voice also a whisper. He groaned in his sleep and rolled onto his back, his deep breathing ruffling the fine hairs under his nose as air passed over and through them.

Beth smiled to herself and relaxed. He must have been dreaming and simply muttered in his sleep.

“Don’t go yet,” came the voice again. Beth turned back, shocked, to find that everything was as before.

Maybe it is the moustache mythos, but I cant help but think the moustache is whispering to her. It is the moustache that makes it scary.
