The prisoner struggled helplessly against the ropes that tied him to the chair. "You can torture me all you want," he said, "but I'll take my secrets to the grave."

The man in the black coat shook his head. "I don't think your secrets will make it quite that far; I'm not a torturer, you see, I'm a medium." He took a long knife from the table and checked its edge with his thumb. "Dead men do tell tales," he added with a smile. "What they don't tell is lies."

The knife slid in, and the truth came pouring out.

HA!!!! Love this one. What a great pairing - brilliant idea!

I felt like the last line was extraneous after the last bit of dialogue. I'd prefer for it to end on the POW rather than going further and explaining the joke. Just my two cents. :)
