The Storm of the Century (Somebody's Gotta Do It theme)

Post by gunsofchekhovia » Thu Sep 26, 2013 2:13 pm

It came suddenly.

For days, it seemed the rain would never end. The streets flooded. The power went out. We who were left had nothing to do but listen to the rain, the thunder, and... whatever else was out there. We couldn't talk to each other. There was nothing to say.

This morning, though, I was awakened by sunlight in my eyes. Luckily all this facial hair saved me from what could have been the worst sunburn of my life.

I went down into the still-flooded street and began to pull the stiff, matted hair out of the storm drains.

If the hair don't getcha, the dander will.

Tell me about it. I seem to have recently acquired an allergy to dog dander, which is rather upsetting since hitherto only cats made me want to crawl out of my skin.

Nope, I've still got him. Things just get really sneezy sometimes.

Gives me an idea for a drabble about the disgusting aliens who keep us as pets. The ones who own no humans are actually a taciturn, doe-eyed group. The ones who have humans ooze secretions and emit grinding, puking sounds that make us sick to our stomachs. But the more this makes us want to keep our distance, the more they seem to want to pull us in and puke all over us.
It's all just because we are irresistably cute to them, but they are allergic to us...so sad

Sort of "To Serve Man...it's a COOKBOOK!"...
but with, "It's a PETSTORE!"

I'm always happy when my overactive immune system inspires someone.

I did not tag this with an indicator that it was a quasi-sequel to someone else's work. But oddly enough, reading it without that context seems to somehow make it even weirder.

whoa, nice.

I'm fond of facial hair, as may surprise you, but even fonder of hair where it shouldn't be - namely, in gutters. Fantastic drab.
