They faced each other over the ancient board.
A pale hand reached out and carefully moved a pawn one space.
Then a hairy hand responded, a knight leapt to intercept.
Back and forth they went, in a tense, menacing silence.
Over in a dark corner a filthy child sat, blond curls hanging listlessly along her tear streaked face. Yet she made no sound, only stared numbly as the game continued.
At last a misstep, a rook taken, and the end came swiftly.
As the victor wiped the child's blood from his now rosy lips, he said,
"Care for another game?"

Good 'un, Cymraeg.
Funny how you just can't imagine eating children with checkers, isn't it?

Hmm. I'm not sure exactly what's going on here, but I like it. I saw it as two vampires playing for the tasty, tasty snack in the corner. Am I close?

Yes, that's right. The opponent with the hairy hand might be a vampire or werewolf or something else equally sinister.Varda wrote:Hmm. I'm not sure exactly what's going on here, but I like it. I saw it as two vampires playing for the tasty, tasty snack in the corner. Am I close?
