Sing-a-Long Apocalypse - Perfect Weapon Theme

Post by MonsieurMoustache » Fri Nov 15, 2013 7:00 am

We thought it’d be the biologists and physicists who destroyed civilization.

Roger Enkleheimer was a commercial jingle composer for Cheezychewz snackfood.

During the War his lyrics were the last words of many dying soldiers. Even those of the Enemy.

Enkleheimer was ordered to weaponize ditties. He did not know he composed our damnation.

On the 25th April, 2056, we played it for the Enemy.

The endless, catchy loop destroyed thought. Madness crippled their campaign; they sought silence in death.

The tune lived on.

It was banned, the original destroyed; but to no avail.

The birds sing but one song now.

"This is the song that doesn't end.
Yes, it goes on and on my friend.
Some people started singing it not knowing what it was,
And they'll continue singing it forever just because . . ."
Never judge anyone until you have biopsied their brain.

"Be kind, for everyone is fighting a hard battle."

HA!!! Nice, and welcome back from hibernation my friend! This one has a bit of Monty Python to it. Anyone remember the skit about the world's funniest joke being weaponized during WWII?

I'm with you; we should kill everyone in Hollywood and Madison Avenue just to be safe! :) (And also as partial payment for their many crimes against humanity)

Anyway, reminds me of some great Monty Python:

I'm a huge fan of Monty P. A few years ago I even attempted to translate the 'joke'. I'll admit I did think of it when I was writing the drabble, although it was more inspired by a day of terrible earworms. Glad I encouraged some people to reread it.

Quiet, you fool, or you'll infect the planet again!

Too late...already I feel my brain being overloaded with an endless stream of code....

"This is the song that never ends. It goes on until you're 'round the bend..."

I remember that song was horribly popular when I was in Elementary school.
