Thermonuclear Thursday

Post by DoctorBanzai » Sat Nov 16, 2013 1:26 pm

In the far distance, barely before the horizon line, came the bright flash. From our rooftop vantage point, it was actually quite a lovely sight. Almost reminiscent of a sunrise, taken all in a quarter second. Red-Orange-White; like that.

We watched, waiting, for what would come next only to find ourselves immobile as the destruction began rolling across the landscape. Trees, buildings, the ground itself, caught fire and burned in an instant to ash.

It grows closer to us now, soon there will be nothing left. Some have chosen to flee, but where will they go that this cannot find?

The cold war turned hot!
Life will not be good after the explosion of a device of fusion.
Amid all the confusion and the generals calling for a firing solution to a world gone mad, I feel really sad. Somewhat glad to be in a fallout shelter amid all the helter-skelter of a war ravaged city.
All survivors, I do pity!
As the bombs explode and the nuke silos reload for a second strike, a satellite transmission I like reached the shelter regarding the war, that seems so far, has ended in a truce in which both sides lose.
