Jump Scare

Post by Loren Eaton » Wed Dec 11, 2013 7:17 pm

Lorna was touching up her makeup before work when the Abomiglob shot a slimy proboscis from her toilet bowl.

She hurled a toothbrush at it. "Stop it! I said that jump scares aren't scary."

A face formed on the extrusion's surface. "I've used them for a millennium."

"Boooooring. I saw The Exorcist when I was four."

"How can I frighten this age?" It groused. "You're so inured. Everyone knows your leaders are petty, your currency crumbling, your geopolitical enemies manifold."

Lorna shuddered. "That was good."

"Really?"

"Really."

"Everyone also knows that skirt is so last season,"
the Abomiglob added helpfully.

Man, how'd I miss this yesterday, Loren?!

Poor Abomiglob, outdated as Lorna's skirt!

Thanks, guys! My wife gave me the eye when she read it and said, "DId you write this because of me?" I promised her not. Really. Honestly. Truthfully.

MitD: Wow, Stanley we landed inside a Drabble story. How cool is that!

Stanley the Pookie: Look the story has an alien. In fact a C74X-2G Abomiglob.

MitD: Do you think it could be Ricardo?

Stanley the Pookie: Last I heard he was timelining in C74Y, but he always was a fashion slut so it could be him.

MitD: Did you notice how Loren cleverly disguised his/her name in the story. He/she has got to be at least a pwwka.

Stanley the Pookie: For sure.

MitD: So, Stanley what you think 4 thumbs up.

Stanley the Pookie: Excuse me...

MitD: Oh sorry Stan.

To the author: You see Stanley has no thumbs so he has to give you the finger. His thumbs down is a noise that sounds suspiciously like passing gas but it comes from holes under each of his arms. A pit-fart if you like.

MitD: So 2 thumbs up and 2 fingers.

Stanley the Pookie: Thanks Loren, nice little ditty. If that is Ricardo in your commode please say hey from us.
