The Stockton Apparition

Post by Mr. Tweedy » Mon Jul 06, 2009 9:40 pm

When Romulus Augustus died, his soul fled in fear from the piercing light above. He knew that light would shine right through, expose all that he was... and all that he was not. Ashamed, he cowered, and broke away, spinning out into the gray void.

For hundreds of years he wandered, seeking absolution. But there were no ears to hear his confessions.

At last his unhappy spirit found a place that offered silent oblivion. He sank into a tree stump, and there remained.

“Bob!” Jenny yelled. “Call the newspaper! I see the face of Michael Jackson on our tree stump!”

Poor Romulus! From cipher to his father to cipher for Tweedy. After 1600 years of reincarnation, he's still stuck in the same karmic rut.
