When his beloved first appeared, it seemed as if the world were upside down. He felt like a hollow imitation of himself, being filled with giddy joy and exhilaration, the way a leaky boat fills with water.
He could stare for hours at those flowing locks, those beautiful eyes, the firm, toned muscles. His beloved turned this way and that, and his heart ached with every twist. He would give anything simply to reach out and touch such an object of beauty.
But how could such a one as this ever love him, a simple hunter living in a pool?
