Encounter on the Troll Bridge
Under the bridge the troll waited.
Quiet. Patient. Watching.
When the little boy came to cross, it rose. “Dinner time, little boy.”
The boy looked the troll up and down. “You have silly hair.”
“So?”
“It’s purple.”
The troll grunted.
“And bad breath.”
“Halitosis,” said the troll.
The boy shrugged. “You’re chubby, too.”
“Not at chubby as I’m about to be.” The troll grinned.
“And you’re naked.”
“I’ll take your clothes.”
The boy frowned. “They wouldn’t fit you,” he said, “you’re too short.” And with that he punted the little troll down the river and continued across the bridge, whistling.

Good story! I feel a little bad for the troll though, he'll get there someday!

True. Even the littlest wishing trolls have to grow up some time.
