“All that planning wasted!” the captain lamented. “It was not twenty calendars ago that our scouts returned with news that humans were ripe for domination. Now I am forced to abort the mission. They have already bowed to an overlord.”
“I believe parasite would be the better term,” the science officer replied. “The one we captured does not appear capable of independent life.” He paused before adding, “You're doing the right thing, Captain. Earth must be quarantined, not conquered. We cannot risk a galactic outbreak of smart phone.”
