Wrong Turn

Vast aeons ago, it tore out its own eyes to spare itself from the beauty of the universe. It only hears their cries now. It flies toward their grief and suffering on three weak, atrophied wings.

Buffeted by the folds of existence, it cries out. Its pain echoes back in the voices of a billion sick and wounded and dying. It longs to be one with them in the thrashing agony.

But in its pathetic, blind stupor, it takes a wrong turn. Its fiery descent culminated in world-choking clouds of dust and ash, and the scaled behemoths breathe their last.
