The experiment had gone horribly wrong. His life’s dream had been to transport and transmute himself into a new multidimensional universe. He planned to leave this constrained 3D existence behind and enter a nearly limitless twelve dimensional paradise by surfing the chaotic inflation of the multiverse. At least, that was the plan.

His calculations were good, his equipment worked flawlessly, he had glimpsed his goal though the transmission portal before he leaped. But instead of gaining, he lost a dimension.

He sang to himself with lament, “ I’m living in a flat plane, don’t know when I’ll get Up again.”

(The last line is sung to John Denver’s leaving on a jet plane by Peter, Paul and Mary)

cute and clever. I can't help but think that this could me more amusing if the sole goal was not to utilize the pun at the end. (though it is good for a chuckle)

Definitely amusing if he could describe 12 dimensions in 100 words.

Yeah, you didn't have to explain the song. I totally recognized it.
