An Act of Clandestine Floral Ingestion

They came by night, weird and glowing. They drug us from our beds as we tried to scream, but couldn't. Their monstrous forms fell upon us. Needles! Thousands of needles! The hideous creatures didn't have 'faces', but we could sense their delight. Terrible shrieks and warbles as they danced up and down. Some of them had thick, sticky, yellow—stuff—oozing from their bodies. I awoke with no memory after that. I had lost two whole days. That was the last I, or anyone, saw of my brother Alex. They took him. It was the night of the—Space Shrubs!
