Tucked In

Post by 3trew » Thu Apr 30, 2015 7:35 am

Eddie's foster mom didn't listen when he told her the monsters were coming that night. Grownups never listened.

Eddie listened. He listened to the screams and the snarling, and the feeding sounds. He listened to the howls of frustration when they came for him and found him in bed, hands feet and head securely under the blankets, made untouchable by the ancient treaties.

They would disappear with the dawn. Eddie could hold out until then. He hoped there were some other grownups who would take him in now that she was gone. If there were, maybe those ones would listen.
