A Paradox of Pain
The husband and wife lived a quiet life in spite of their Agency job traveling in time to nudge history one direction or another. No killing Hitler, that would cause too many paradoxes. But they both had a feeling the number of trips they made built up to something. When their handler came to visit he offered a tiny box with the standard Agency warning about personal paradoxes. It held a tiny scrap of paper with the letters “oves Mommy.” The husband barely suppressed a sob when he saw it. To their knowledge, in this here/now, they couldn't have children.

Re: A Paradox of Pain
I figure the "Agency" has an ethics rule that when they discover potential personal paradoxes they give the agents the option whether they want to know about it or not.
