The Buddha said, "You've come to ask me the secrets of life and the universe.
How do I know? You've come many times before.
Our world dies and is reborn as regularly as the moon follows the sun.
I alone remember.
Existence is a cosmic horror. We live to fight. We die only to be reborn, forever trapped on the wheel of karma.
Listen and teach others. Only then can we break the cycle and find nirvana."

"What a crappy video game." Billy said. "All my warriors just sit there and go 'Om.'"
He chucked the cartridge into the trash.

No, this is not inspired by Charlie the Purple Giraffe Was Acting Strangely. I'm listening to the Relaunch Prelaunch now and yeah, in a sense there's a lot of overlap.

Re: Cosmic Horror
I try to leverage the reader's knowledge to make simple stories more complex. In "Cosmic Horror" knowledge about Buddhism makes the story work.
It's like linking a library to a computer program.
For example, printf("%s\n","Hello World") requires the stdio header file and library.
Without the necessary references programs crash. Likewise a drabble can crash if the reader doesn't have the right cultural references.
But with the references much can be said with few words.
I wonder if it's possible to write a meta-drabble about cultural references in drabbles.
Hmmm...
100 words. I guess I just did.
