The Best Christmas Present Ever

Post by MementoHero » Tue Dec 18, 2018 8:20 am

Billy’s eyes widened as he caught Santa struggling out the fireplace. Santa looked disheveled and exhausted. He seemed sad, not jolly. However, Billy quickly lost these observations in the magic of the moment.

“Santa!-“ but Santa cut him off.

“I don’t have much time Billy. How would you like the best present ever?” Kringle stammered out.

Billy nodded excitedly, seconds before the bullet killed him.

“You cannot fathom the coming horrors now that He’s awakened. I’m so sorry.” Santa whispered, fighting back tears.

He reached into his sack for more bullets. No child was on the naughty list this year.

Thanks WB! I appreciate it. I was considering expanding it to a short story, or at least base that as main concept for one. Maybe next year though so if it’s any good I can submit it to places and podcasts. Originally I wished I could have had like 500 words, because I figured I’d really be able to make something great but the short story idea is more interesting and would be more satisfying to do.
