Prince Charming

Post by eric_marsh » Tue Nov 10, 2009 2:22 pm

Prince Charming had traveled many leagues to find the girl. He'd fought his way through the brambles that protected the ancient castle. Finally, his quest was at it's end.

She lay sleeping in a glass coffin. She appeared no more than sixteen yet wore attire from his grandparent's day. Her hair was ebony, her lips like rubies and her skin as white as snow. The prince was instantly in love.

He kissed her on the lips. Slowly she awoke from her slumber and reached out to him. From within his embrace she sank her long fangs deep into his neck.

What girl doesn't like to be brought breakfast in bed every now and then?

That's what he deserves for trying to take advantage of a sleeping girl.

you know that is how the real snow white story was suppose to go but Jacob and Wilhelm's agent and editor told them that no-one like vampire stories or vampires for that matter and that there can never be a love story that involves vampires and so they changed the story to placate the masses and cowtoe to the corporate Juggernaut machine that is the publishing industry.

Nice story BTW i like that it fit in 100 words

When you think about her physical attributes and that she sleeps in a coffin in an old castle the connection is pretty obvious. So of course I'm hardly the first person to make that connection. Still it was a fun drabble to write and probably one of the easiest that I've written. I just sat down and wrote it pretty much as it is now. The first draft took about three minutes. I ended up less than six words over so a few tweaks and it was done.

Nice twist on a vampire story. I like it. :)

Why is it all vampire stories remind me of marriage? (She sucks the life out of him and only when some other bloke stakes out her heart, will she be gone.)

It's cause an allegory isn't worth a pinch of raccoon-poop if it's not based in something that happens every day through time eternal. Nice job identifying the source of the Vampire allegory in our collective sub-conciousness.

Very nice drabble. The best ones do seem to be the easiest ones to write. Good structure, and a classic drabble twist. You get a gold-star in your Literature of the Strange class today.

200 years later, Jacob's agent, Stephenie Meyer, proved that her clients had merely mistimed the western teen market. But what's 200 years to a vamp like Stephenie?

Some people would consider Prince Charming to be one of the best fictional princes but for me he is the least favorite one. I agree he should not have taken advantage of a sleeping girl.
