BSides 12 - Social Parasite by Spencer Koelle
Wednesday, September 8, 2010

“I, Commander Cody Pendant, am asking you, Chief Neo-Eugenicist Shahven Ishtpig the Third, one last time,” the Aryan commander tossed back a shot of vodka. The glass shattered against the wall, “is Project Minnesota Condor ready?” He impatiently tapped his gun...

Freaking phenomenal story with a really amazing narrator. B-sides rule.

I love the juxtaposition of faux USSR (CCCЯ) culture and capitalism. It was beautiful and unexpected and the payoff was evenly distributed throughout.

Agreed, I like the unashamed ridiculous of the story (and the hook works well too), and the Narrator really got into the spirit of the story.

Great narration!

I really, really didn't understand why they were squirrels.

I think that squirrel rations are a much sought after protein source for the elite of the United Democratic Republic of Non-Totalitarian Russiavakistan.

"Stop flagellating about the shrubbery"--one of my favorite lines ever.

This was hilarious, with the USSR turned upon its head in the silliest possible way. I was so distracted by the humor that I didn't think too much about why the mosquito men idea was flawed. When the reveal happened it was a facepalm moment--I knew that male mosquitoes weren't bloodsuckers and I'd completely spaced it. Well played!
