I watched this and was inspired to buy Norm's album. I'm not quite sure what to think of it. Especially Rutabaga. Fetus, on the other hand, is always going to be funny to me.

Also: I want to see Norm perform live now. That would just be awesome.

The only problem I had with his album is I listened to it too much! Still a regular in my playlist after a year.
Can't top Fetus. Asian baby close second. Jack Taylor, Daddy... hard to pick a favorite!

Ok, I've added the B-Sides to the drabblecast archive. I put the video into a AVI format which has the highest chance of compatibility.

Oh my, oh my, oh my!!! I just discovered that this file is a VIDEO of Norm! Yeeeeeeeehaaaaa! Winamp hid the image for me, so I was just enjoying the awesome songs I know by heart now, because I play my Norm cds all the time.

Absolutely Fabulous, hearing AND seeing the man who has brightened many car rides and household tasks for me. Yes, I love to sing along while doing the dishes. "There's a foetus in my dishes. Blame it on ADD, blame it on a tv showow. And he knew how to handle a teet."

Norm, that was a great performance. When can I see you live in Rotterdam? Amsterdam is fine too, I'm willing to drive that distance for you.
I'll be there in 5 minutes. If not, read this again.

LOL! I can just see you combining those songs, too. I find myself walking around work singing under my breath "momma left him 'cause you wouldn't clean your room, grandpa died because of how much you whined...". Nobody considers this strange behavior anymore.

Watching this made me reach three conclusions:

1) If I were Norm's student, I would not get boogers on him. Instead, I would slobber in worship.
2) I should listen to my teachers more, especially those music-related, and not get irritated over fingering.
3) MUST BUY ALBUM NAOW. Come to DC, Norm!

So yeah. :D

He's screentag is LaFleur, which means he's a "Lost" fan, which means he already knows that... :)

Yes, welcome seconded.

ROU, I know everyone probably says this, but maybe if you had set your trumpet down first it would have been easier playing the piano.

Lost fan? Here I just thought he was a love interest in Harry Potter!

I agree with strawman, you can really bruise your lips playing the piano that way.

Norm,
Just subscribed to the B Sides. Catching up. Watched BS1 while waiting for my youngest at piano lessons...how appropo...he's working classical piano and you're milking whales. Well done sir. An excellent set. A quick question based on a possibly incorrect observation: Do you have perfect pitch? I noticed at the end of "Asian Baby" you started in with the keyboard...and you hit the key for the pitch you were singing...luck? Recall from the guitar chord? or perfect pitch?

Just curious.

Carry on.

Mike

Nah, no perfect pitch. I have pretty good relative pitch and like a lot of musicians can pull an A 440 outa my brain, but that's it.
My love affair with the banjo would make perfect pitch a curse rather a blessing anyways. :-)
It was just luck in the concert. But I should start passing it off as intentional shouldn't I? hehe
Glad you enjoyed!
