Seven security gargoyles stare at me from atop the elaborate sandstone columns lining the casino’s walls. Their sharp eyes and oversized talons flex ever so slightly in anticipation of snatching up cheaters like unsuspecting prey… The pit boss watches me too, now, and for good reason. I’m an Ittari after all, a shapeshifter, just as they’d identified me with the DNA scan when I’d entered this fine establishment…

Awesome! I love me some B-sides.
I saw the ending about halfway through, and it brought a smile to my face when revealed. Great episode!
You're my quasi-ichthian angel, you're my half-amphibian queen...
The Dribblecast, we don't care if you sound like an idiot.

Fun! I didn't see the ending coming until he pointed out his ability to simulate complex objects like his ship. And then I figured it out, and enjoyed having been fooled, since all the necessary clues were there (you knew he could simulate objects outside of his body because of the dice, you knew he had a private area to make the machine because he mentioned that it was sheltered from surveillance).
Good stuff!

That was a great story! B Sides episodes are always such a pleasant surprise and the stories are just as good as anything produced on Drabblecast.
I thought the reveal was well timed at the end also, didn't see it coming. The story was a neat little window into a space opera universe that seems really interesting. The protagonist had a Captain Mal from Firefly vibe that I was totally digging.
More stories from Nicky!
A Jetson Your Llama! I never said that it was a Mexican McDonalds!

I love it when the drabblecast staff have stories on the podcast. Nicky, Nathan and Norm have written some of my favorites so far.
This story was a lot of fun. Pulled you in and kept you there for the whole ride.

Really liked this story! Any chance we'll get to see Nicky's other Traleel story The Aubergine Wok in a future B-Sides? Not sure I've seen a genuine sequel on the Drabblecast before, but that's what B-Sides is for right, bending the rules.
