Feature: I Don't Know, Timmy, Being God is a Big Responsibility by
Sam Hughes
Tuesday, August 13th, 2013
Tim already had his bag and overcoat on and his keys in his hand and was about to leave when Diane stopped him at the door.
“I just got this thing working. You have to come and see it.”
“I have a bus to catch.”
“You can get the next one.”
“They’re every half an hour,” he objected. “This had better be good…”.

It was worth missing the bus for this one. Gave enough detail to show he can grok these things, but kept it handy-wavy enough for us not to seriously question the science. The result was a fun story with a great ending. Bravo!

The Dribblecast, we don't care if you sound like an idiot.

Yes, fun story and SciFi near its best. I love fiction that takes an aspect of theory and shows some of the practical implications -- while still using good storytelling technique.
I'd call the story a fine example of reductio ad absurdum, to show how silly a concept was but, alas, too many scholars seem to think that this story is damn near true.
