Sunday, December 1st, 2013 A special Drabblecast interview with authors Elizabeth Bear and Sarah Monette, Authors of Mongoose, Boojum, and The Wreck of the Charles Dexter Ward.
Great interview! Neat to hear the perspective of the creators of these wonderful stories, get glimpses of the scaffolding that exists just outside the stories.
Man writing together like that must be hard. I'm glad they are good at it!
You're my quasi-ichthian angel, you're my half-amphibian queen...
Yeah, it was nice to learn a little about their team dynamic and the ideas that went into the 'verse.
EXCEPT, they said that the Boojum did NOT resemble spacefaring angler-fish!
Sacrilege! What's with authors messing about with their own creations?
(And no, I'm not still smarting that Dumbledore was made retroactively gay, in a publicity stunt, without Rowling having the guts to write him that way in the first place.)
I keep forgetting to comment on this one, but just wanted to say I thoroughly enjoyed hearing this interview. It's cool to see how two authors work together in a shared universe to build a series of really kickass stories. Also, I thought it was neat to hear about Bear and Monette's early days as writers, and how they found each other online and teamed up the way they did.
Keep at it, you two, and hope we get to hear more stories from them in the future!
