Gotta say I am impressed.
How you can take a fairly esoteric subject and turn it into something as interesting as a DC intro amazes me. Great idea for B-Sides, too.
Bravo!

Shouldn't Norm be charging $1000 for this masterclass?

The advice about what to do if you hear voices in your head is, all by itself, worth twice that.

I'm not done yet, but wow! Good stuff!
I agree with strawman that this is a class worth. I suppose that people need to pay B-sides to get this, so he might get some cash out of it. :-)

Very interesting look into the seamy underside of Drabblecast audio production. :) Lotsa good tips too.

Some points that I feel were overlooked or not emphasized enough:
  1. Always normalize the finished mix to the maximum volume without clipping. That is, normalize to 0 dBFS or "1" -- depending on the tool you use.

    (A) People listen to podcasts while doing other things, so your audio has to compete with lawnmowers, vacuum cleaners, horn honks and the shouts of angry drivers, etc.

    (B) There is nothing more annoying, and even physically damaging to your ears, than having to crank the iPod volume to the max, to hear some faint-ass episode -- only for the next song or episode to be painfully louder.
      ‌ ‌
  2. If you use Auto-Tune, the only proper response is your death by torture. Do the world a favor and practice Seppuku until it sticks.

Anyway, good stuff. At least the parts I heard. When it got to the part with Jody Foster breathing sexily, I kinda got excited and... Well, lets just say that I didn't hear anything after that... :P

Shit, now you tell me.
I always thought it makes you go BLIND, but my eyes are fine.
I am, however half-deaf.

My wife says she wants me to get a herring aid.
She also tells me the wages of sin are deaf.
That woman has some strange beliefs.
Anyway, this way, I don't have to listen to my stupid opinions.
So it's a wind wind situation.
