Thx bud. It was a great read. Took some liberties with the timing of sentences and such. 1/2 a second here, a second there and such. Very good source material to work with on the narration wav. Thanks for lending your talents to it.

Plus, I think I spelled your name right. :D
Yeah, I edit all my own for timing anyway. My current method is heavily reliant on my H4n. I record a line and if I fudge it, I stop the recording and start over. Then when I get the line right, I hit record on a new file. It sounds cumbersome but it's way better for me than the old way where I would end up cutting a fudge and then playing some more and realizing I'd fudged again, and so on. Could end up replaying the same line like 30 times before I finally get to the end of the fudges.

For this way, I just find the first non-fudged file and close all the ones that lead to it, then find the next non-fudged file and close the intervening ones until I've got the whole read and paste them together. And that's where I edit timing. I recorded the narration for Two the old way. I'm surprised it came out as well as it did. Listening to my narration, there's only one part where I go "Oh, shit, what the f%&$?!"

Your production was genius though. I never would have thought to put that song behind it, but it was perfect. And the birds were deliciously subtle. It's at that perfect level where I'm pretty sure most people wouldn't notice it, but it really lends a "park" feeling to the scene. Good stuff.

 I'm betting you did spell my name right. I'm subscribed so I only go to the website when I'm pimping it for other stuff.

If you're going to spend serious money (like in the 70-100 USD range), the mic that a lot of podcasters swear by is the Snowbell USB Microphone. I've seen prices as low as 70 for it, but the lowest price the manufacturer lets people post is apparently 100 USD (according to Amazon).

If you need links, let me know. I haven't priced it out and would rather not default to advertising for amazon.
....see, now that's useful. i'm unsure my mic is up to the task of recording these things, i always go back and fixate on how staticey it sounds after. mental note, next time i get some cash, new mic....
For anyone who is contemplating the Snowbell, Amazon has it today for 60 USD. Not sure if that price holds true in Canada, UK, or Netherlands, but the shipping is probably going to eat the savings. Anyway, here it is.

Need 4 more readers for the rest of the "Sympathy for a Clown" series.

Here they are. Swamp has already done #4 and mailed it off to me.

Oooh, shiny. What time frame do you need them by? I couldn't have any new readings done earlier than tomorrow night, but probably more likely Tuesday.

I got dibs on part 3 assuming someone hasn't posted up before I hit submit and you don't need it before tomorrow night.

Ok, that covers 1 (Tom Baker) 3 (J.E.Ignatius) and 4 (Swamp)

Why don't you take 2, Liz. :-)

And Whenever's Clever. If no one chimes in on #5, maybe I'll suck it up and read it myself. I've been running a bit ahead of schedule, so if it takes a bit to get the episode out, my throngs of subscribers will hopefully cut me some slack.

Lord Morpheus saw fit not to allow me in his kingdom last night and so I'm a little odd right now. Sample tweet: I am the duly elected prime minister of "what the crap is going on in my head." Members of the privy council, please report to the privy.

I'll try to do the recording tomorrow.

EDIT: I suck. I'll try again Wednesday.

Ha, that was nice! Really slick production you got going there. I think everyone did real well, and did the stories proud.

Thanks Tom. I think it had a good thematic feel to it.

My favorite part is the gag real of Pheno at the end. ;-)

Thanks again to all the voice actors.

And Pheno got his ROU intro as promised. Wife and daughter just flew down to Louisville for 3 weeks, so it was nice and quiet. :-(

I miss the noise.

Working on a new episode... thru my back out and been delayed, but it'll be a good one, with a voice narration you won't want to miss... ;-) /nudge /nudge wink

You better start watching old pro wrestling tapes and playing N64 immediately, otherwise there will never be time to replicate my awkward adolescence.
