...Anyways. How about the crowd-fund project with ideas from the forums? Is it doable, given the effort required to set it up? Talking of royalties, there are costs involved with Kickstarter and the like, but these just have to be built into the financial targets, I guess.

Yes, kickstarter usually takes 6-10%, rather than leaving 6-10%. :-)
I'm all for a kickstarter campaign. This aligns with stuff Norm was thinking of. So I'd love ideas about merch people would actually like as premiums.

So let's start filling in premiums. Here's a sampler:

Date with Norm
Worm Within coffee mug
T-shirt
Hoodie
Pop-Quiz bubble wrap
Artwork collection
Anthology DVD's

Keep 'em coming, guys!

I've no idea of the numbers, but I'm guessing most DC subbers don't frequent these forums, or do so sporadically. If a KS campaign is to gain traction it'd be good to have it mentioned on the podcast.

For some reason, I think alien baby garments would be a winner.
Or even a maternity tee like

"It's Twins" might also be nice.

I love all this, those images and products are awesome! And Tom is right, it's pretty coincidental in timing with what I've been wanting to do. A barrier so far, as you've seen from these sites, is cost-effectiveness. A. We don't have enough $$ to front for the initial buy-in of said wonderful merch and B. We REALLY don't have the $$ for said merch because the idea, at least at first, would be to stock on merch for as little cost as possible so that we could give them away at premium as part of a larger fundraising platform.
In other words, yah, it would be great to get a 1-time supply of a lot of this merch for close to nothing on DC's end-- use it in fundraising-- then down the road pick up the line again under different general terms, selling and splitting it in regards to general sustainability.

Thinking Now from Then. Then could be for DC fundraising. Now might be break-even for DC marketing, fan involvement.
The chest-burster maternity tee would be certain to start lots of conversations among a key potential DC demographic, ie women who have alien beings (and future subscribers!) growing inside them.

A few such items, the result of a community effort along contest lines would also be fun, and build the DC community.

Plus, dammit, I want to see Connor Choadsworth's version of a J. Peterman catalog.
