Strange how clear it becomes with the change in perspective.

tbaker2500 and strawman: I was going for the perspective confusion, but I may have gone a bit too far with it. :D

The Flight 9 "Asshole Bomber" didn't bring the plane down, but the subsequent security checks almost killed aviation.

xD Reminds me of the Hangover:

"It's not illegal; it's frowned upon, like masturbating on an airplane."
"I'm pretty sure that's illegal too."

Unfortunate fairytales

Her body laid broken and bloodied. As razor sharp claws came slicing down, she pondered "Why do I love porridge so much?"

He trusted his fate to its mechanisms. It gave no encouragement and volunteered no information. But there was dim hope.

In a spirit of helpfulness, and as a representative of an audience with "typical" brain density, I hereby issue an "over my head" alert on recent drabbles, and call those whose goal is general comprehension to adjust their trajectories accordingly. Fax Machine Crescendo and ECO Friendly are not enough hint for me. And is porridge the same thing as curds and whey?

Please keep in mind that we don't want to lose our Canadian audience.

Aw, sorry mate. It's not a intelligence thing, it's a "dreamrock failed to write well" thing. D: For this one, I'm just trying to convey the despair of trusting your fate to a fax machine that doesn't happen to tell you whether or not the fax went through.

Basically, crap like I posted is a lot like what a lot of modern poetry is like: trying to convey an emotion through text that is meaningful to the writer, but not so much to the reader. If it's done well (like mine usually isn't) and not done very often (huzzah, I don't use it frequently), it probably has a place, but otherwise it's just obnoxious.

I'll try to keep my bad poetry habits in check.

Mostly I thought the poor thread looked a trifle abandoned, and my experience with the fax machine today inspired me. Damn you, fax machine, and your non-responsive ways.

We knew it was near, even knew when. The alien number system wasn't that hard. How we would end? Now that was the surprise.

Due to her job title, Meteorologist, he assumed that she studied meteors. But all she ever talked about was the weather.

Funny, and topically relevant to the recent discussion. Nominate this one as a weekly winner.

My 2secondGoldfish spouse will likely give me the evil eye for jumping in before she can explain but of course I'm at the computer now... :P
Nothing as frustraiting as trying to off yourself and discovering the cleaning products under the sink only kill stains.
Yeah, "porridge" took me awhile to get used to. Being a Yankie, I was always brought up with good ol' Oatmeal or Cream-of-wheat. But I guess that one covers most of your flavorless hot bowls of goopy morning cereal. Which of course, If I were Goldielocks,I think I'd go on to the next woodland creature's home and eat their bacon and eggs. But that's just me.

I had hoped everyones' love of Brine shrimp would make my Sea Monkey twit-fic a shoe -in, but I have to agree that is a finely crafted micro story.
The alien horde had finally halted. Our sonic weapons had worked. Their battle cry was no more. "Yep yep yep yep, uh huh!"

The saw blades finally rested from their works. Perhaps now the phantom pain would finally drown out the emotional one.
