This is horrificly amusing. My first attempt:
Stories below a crowd gathered.
One volunteer soon stood by my side.

I knew it would cost an arm and a leg to take lessons but juggling is my life, I think I was better before I paid for the class.

It looked like a hula hoop to me but he said it was a piece of cake and I'm adventurous so I tried it. 'Needs sugar' I mumbled.

I could never get the hula hoop to spin around me. Maybe if I knew all it needed was a little sugar I could have joined the masses of hula fans.
