Bedlam!

Postby normsherman » Fri Jul 24, 2009 3:37 am

Already getting some confused replies...

"The message below reads almost like flash fiction, but I think it's spam. (Or is it a joke? Ubuntu? App Store? Nissan Honda?) The return address could just be a lie, but it does appear to have come from Yahoo and might even be from your account. Are you aware of this?"

David D. Levine, writer

"Being on the list to receive this warms the cockles of my charred, charred heart. Now where to find the greenbacks?"

Fred Greenhalgh, Produce/Writer Finalrune Productions

"HA! Too funny. You guys nailed it."

Christopher Fisher
Editor: OICJ Publications
"Give us all some Jelly"

You're my quasi-ichthian angel, you're my half-amphibian queen...

The Dribblecast, we don't care if you sound like an idiot.

Outside of people assuming illiterate hackers taking control of my email account, I got two related replies which entertained me. Both of which stemmed from emailing The 365 Days of Astronomy Podcast:

Davin Flateau to me, info

I read this aloud to coworkers and it left the office in much
laughter. I nominate this for the best piece of spam ever!

Davin

Robert Simpson to Davin, me, info

Yeah, although I think he just spoiled the next season of Lost...

Rob
