Perhaps worth highlighting for Americans who may not know, but Norwich (Norfolk in general, in fact) has a bit of a... reputation in the UK. Webbed fingers, 3 surnames in the whole county, distaste for outsiders, that kind of thing. Not saying it's justified(!), just saying that it's part of the broader cultural identity of the place.

Me, I love it because it's full of birds, wetlands and nice beaches and I also like Norwich for a bunch of reasons. But I've also never had the shit kicked out of me by a bunch of angry orange dwarves. Well, not in Norwich...

The problem here is that I've got no frame of reference for the US. I'm going to go with yes......?

The giveaway is having only 3 surnames.
It is said that the last virgin in the state is the fastest cousin.

:D :D Nice one.
Thanks for the reference, BBG. That will help next time it comes up on Top Gear.
For the US side, West Virginia, Kentucky, et al are very hilly/mountainy states. Consequently, there is a lot of division and protectionism of "my hollow".

Us northern folk make good fun of them right before we're shot for trespassing.

Note that Tom adds his neighboring state of Kentucky. There being no hollows in Indiana.
But I'd love to see Tom give us a story on how French Lick got its name.

This ever-expanding hollow needed to stop somewhere.
New Yorkers think of everything between New York and California as New Jersey.
