Impressive, but grossly exaggerated.

And the original English-language source obviously suffered from a conversion or translation error.

If the length was 22 feet, then that wall would be at least as high -- Which it clearly isn't.

The background panel has posts that are, at-most, 2 feet on center (more likely 50 cm, on center). From that we can estimate the nest at about 100 cm wide by about 150 cm tall. Length looks like it's probably about 150 cm long too.

This gives a volume of roughly 0.6 cubic meters -- impressive but not uncommon for bees, ants, and especially termites.

As for the important part, that is still big enough for a small-ish person, if they died in the fetal position, which seems plausible given the wasp attack. :)
