Where have all the weirdos gone?

Postby ROU Killing Time » Tue Nov 22, 2011 8:19 pm

Broken links? DC is better than ever but forum posting seems way down. Plus, I miss Tweedy, Phenopath, Dreamrock, and so many others. Come back,Shane. Mother needs you.

Tough call. We did what we could. I'm looking to the winter for a seasonal pickup.

Looking at it glass half full - the Facebook community has grown by leaps and bounds. Maybe some of the energy has simply been displaced, not lost.

You've kicked ass. Just miss my old homies. I do get my Tweedy fix in FB though.

Well, I've been gone at a conference for over a week. That alone would've dropped the weirdo quotient around here.

That being said, there are a lot of new weirdos around. Welcome, make your voice heard!

I have noticed a much higher lurk rate in the last two months. That being said, we've also had a much higher attendance on the forums. Just mainly lurkers.

Pfft. Like we'll ever get rid of YOU... ;-)
Eeek. I'm not the Notorious Forum Hog anymore... (in all fairness, I think Strawman owns that title now...)

Huh. I didn't do that. Maybe Strawman did it! With his secret ninja powers.

I don't think so. Bo isn't Beast-Master either. Shucks, we ain't even members anymore. Which is all for the best. I kinda felt like the forum was calling everyone a bunch of dicks with that classification.

I wonder about that. I ping the site quite often and I always notice this guy, 24 x 7... Hmmm.

It's probably a forum setting somewhere. I did notice that he resurrected Miss Grimsley, but has yet to unleash her.

My guess is that would be Phenopath. I believe he is from Manchester.
If you want to summon Miss Grimsley, just write a Drabble (or Twabble) starting with a misused gerund. That's the standard invocation.

Strange matter is a particular form of quark matter, usually thought of as a "liquid" of up, down, and strange quarks. It is to be contrasted with nuclear matter, which is a liquid of neutrons and protons (which themselves are built out of up and down quarks), and with non-strange quark matter, which is a quark liquid containing only up and down quarks. At high enough density, strange matter is expected to be color superconducting. Strange matter is hypothesized to occur in the core of neutron stars, or, more speculatively, as isolated droplets that may vary in size from femtometers (strangelets) to kilometers (quark stars).

Up may come, and down may go,
but strange is good for all we know.

Happy Thanksgiving, strange listeners, strange authors, and strange forumites.

Happy Thanksgiving indeed. My thoughts go out to all those who are just now defrosting their turkey.

Strange matter is also prevalent in the imagination of the author of this wonderful holiday posting, Strawman. May your thanksgiving be filled with warmth and companionship with those you love.

Hey there! I guess I'm the new weird. I'm a long time listener but new to the forums here. There are many creative people around here and I'm looking forward to contributing to the legend of The Drabblecast!
