I would say I found DC because of Escape Pod, but I believe I've heard it mentioned in other places as well (Starship Sofa?).

I think its funny how ads got 0. Nobody pays attention to them, with a few exceptions of course.

A friend emailed a link to Drabblecast, saying that it would be somthing I would find interesting. And guess what...

Well by now i think that people that tend to frequent the internets understand that ads are how most sites make enough money to stay alive and look over them assuming their something they don't need.

I love Norm's hosting on Escapepod and came on over.

I love this podcast! My favorite stories cross genres, and every episode here is scifi/fantasy and horror together. Wrapped up in an unholy podcast burrito. Yum.

I heard Norm narrate a great story on an older episode of Escape Pod I downloaded, called "Harry the Crow." Thought it was a great narration, did what they asked and checked out "The Drabblecast" and WAS TOTALLY CHUFFED that the first ep I got was "Dagon!!!" :D

I was, from then on, hopelessly hooked.

I had heard about Drabblecast on other podcasts before, but didn't get around to checking it out. Listening to Norm narrate On The Eyeball floor on Escape Pod, I was finally inspired to check out Drabblecast. I found Escape Pod by googling for science fiction podcasts when I bought my new MP3 player.

And they aint cheap-ass Sears T-shirt specials.

These be quality swag.

I support improvements in animal technology (and the drabblecast) with pride and in comfort as the soft cotton, woven with etherial fibres of cosmic string, gently comfort my crawling flesh with their soft, ectoplasmic carresses.

I would love to be a walking billboard for the podcast, altho am worried that that particular t shirt design looks too much like the dolphin is humping the pig.....

Haha, we will probably have more designs soonish in 2010.
"Get your mind out of the gutter" and "What? does the Bible forbid this too?!" seem to be good come backs to people who think they dolphin and pig are mating.

I think the T might violate kosher laws.

I, like many others here it seems, heard about you from Escape Pod.

And it seems, judging by the poll results, that advertisements are not very effective, zero votes for them anyways...

Keep up the great work. :D

If only I'd drawn it dolphin on bottom, pig on top, no one would have to live in fear of their friends and neighbors' filthy inner penchant for perceiving bestiality.

That is also how I found EP, (my first SF podcast) at the top of the google results page. Starship Sofa is around the 5th link down, but the DC is nowhere to be found when googling "science fiction podcasts".

And so, since this is the "Don't Be Shy, Suggestion Box thread", I will suggest that whoever is responsible for this kind of stuff gets to work, and makes the DC have a higher google ranking, or whatever you call it, so that people just getting interested in this kind of podcasts can find us directly, and not have to go through EP, or anybody else.
Save 'em some time, and get 'em started earlier... :)

Yea! c'mon Google, rank DC higher!

I'm kinda the defacto person to try and figure this stuff out. The problem, as I see it is:

Science Fiction doesn't appear anywhere on drabblecast.org

Now, you can say, "just put it in there!" And several of you would make dirty jokes. But if you look at EP, you will see they are titled "The Science Fiction Podcast Magazine", and much of their textual content repeats this.

DC.org is organized with very little text, and many episodes. It makes for a clean design, but google really really likes lotsa text to provide it with some context as to how to rank it.

The most common way is to provide a sub-page which contains lots of text talking about what Drabblecast is. Any suggestions?
