Episode background music?

Postby KelliottFace » Wed Jul 09, 2014 3:44 pm

And I have no idea if I'm even asking this in the right place, but I didn't see anywhere better. There's no place that lists the names of the background music used for various drabbles, twabbles, and stories in DC episodes, right? Sometimes I hear one I like, but I don't recognize it and the name isn't mentioned in the episode or episode description. Norm Sherman doesn't write all of those music pieces, does he? That just seems like a lot of music composing and recording for one person each week.

He buys a lot of music, and composes a lot, too. I discovered Gringo Motel out of his use of them.

I know how to find the music he's composed, so that's the easy bit. How do we find out the names of the other songs? There was one I really liked but I don't know how to look for it.

You can try one of these music ID'ing services. I haven't used Shazam (rhymes with scam), but the others are pretty spotty outside of top-40 tunes. You do get lucky every once and a while, though.

Just rolling through the backlog of episodes, I have noticed that a lot of tracks are from movie scores. A long time ago he was using The Nightmare Before Christmas tunes, another time it was from Coraline. But there are a few too that I would like to know what movie or musician they are from.

A lot of these, only Norm knows, and he may not remember. Try asking Norm about it in Twitter. If you can provide a short audio clip, that ,might help jog Norm's memory.
