Spoilers on/in story feedback

Postby strawman » Mon Nov 24, 2014 12:31 pm

I haven't listened yet, and wonder if that should be a spoiler alert.
But spose it affected you deeply enough if it made you cry.

Concerning spoilers...
Isn't it up to each forum member not to open the thread for a story until they've listened to it?
A. Spoilers cease to be an issue.
B. Only then can they comment meaningfully on the story.
I have heard the story, btw, :) and
Spoiler:
I don't regard the computer hack as predictive of the story's ending

I'm different. I don't subscribe to iTunes. So when a new episode appears on the forums, I check out ASID's cover, then listen at the website.

No. Not all people work that way.
So here's the rule under which I will now operate (unless overruled):
  1. If it's within 2 weeks of the episode release, wrap spoilers in the spoiler tag.
  2. After 2 weeks, don't worry about it unless you want to be extra polite.
  3. When in doubt, spoiler tags (used with good intentions) don't hurt.

Seems reasonable. I guess we have to make allowances for the strangest of weirdos ;)

An afterthought... This rule ought to be documented somewhere, e.g. in a pinned thread.

I can see what you're trying to do, ASID, and it's a generous idea... However, if I may play the role of The House Of Lords, (Like The Senate but better.) and examine the workability of such legislation.... Given the purpose of the thread is to discuss the story, you're going to end up with pages and pages of nothing but spoiler buttons.

Anyhoo!

I rather liked the idea that while Super-Villains are only in it for money and power, Superheroes, being more altruistic people, are in it for the cool secret identities, the health insurance, the retirement plan... AND the wealth and power. :D

And let's not forget the excuse to pose provocatively in showy spandex outfits.

Let's try to keep things on-topic, productive and friendly, folks.

As for spoilers and the spoiler tool, it has not been much of a problem.
I'm certain that unless someone has a taste for mischief, it will remain that way.
