Re: Sooooo...is the Drabblecast dead..?
Probably not, and certainly not officially.
Think of it like a new The Venture Bros. episode, or a new, good, Stephen King story... It may be a few more years, but eventually you'll get one.
(And unlike Drabblecast, those other two are paid handsomely.)

I've been asking myself the same question for a while. Thanks for the answer.
Related question: I owe the Drabblecast lots of support from when I was a fan who couldn't spare the cash.
Does it make sense to subscribe at this point, or should I rather funnel my funds to other Make The World Better causes?
p.s. anything specific one could do to be of assistance to the Drabblecast?

I'm sure Norm would appreciate any funds you wished to donate. And, if you give $120 or $10/month, it unlocks all the B-sides episodes for you.
My hunch is that the only way to get more regular episodes, though, is if you can seriously help with production (slush reading, editing, podcast audio, etc.). Contact Norm directly about that...

Well, I sadly cancelled my monthly donation today (after almost 7 years).
I would be happy to sign up again in the future but I don't know what's happening with the donations.
Norm & crew, I sure appreciate the stories (and especially the times when Norm got to throw in his own humor!). Hope to see more in the future!

Whatever it's status I just wanted to drop by and thank Norm and the crew for all the joy and strange pleasure they put out into the world for so long. It really was a great ride, and if it comes back that would be wonderful. And if not, to everything there is a season.
Turn, turn, turn biotches.
Peace out,

I'm so late to the party, but I love the show. Does anyone still need help? I'm a bit of a writer/Podcaster myself.

Re: Sooooo...is the Drabblecast dead..?
I hope it's not dead. I've had to look for some other fiction podcasts, but I've not found any that I like as much.
Ironically I had turned on my brother-in-law to Drabblecast late last year, around the time episodes became sparse.

It's not looking good. Norm even left Escape Pod, which was his first love. Hope he's all right...

Just checking in as I do from time to time. Norm left EP? Any more info on this? Granted I can do my own digging but if you have links to announcements or forum posts they'd be appreciate.

So, what happened?
Re: Sooooo...is the Drabblecast dead..?
Any kind of update from anyone representing the Drabblecast would be nice. What has happened? Is the Drabblecast coming back? If not, why are you still allowing people to donate?
I hope everything is ok with Norm and the crew! This truly was the best fiction-cast around.

Re: Sooooo...is the Drabblecast dead..?
Yeah, my assumption would be that this podcast must now be dead. Particularly for the people who kept donating -- which doesn't include me, don't get me wrong -- it would be nice to get some official word.
I'm a relative newcomer to the podcast, only listening since late last year. Sucks to only catch the tail end of such a great podcast.
Wait, late last year? Oh god, maybe it's my fault!?!

Re: Sooooo...is the Drabblecast dead..?
Wow, Norm came out of hiding? Excellent! Here is hoping the Drabblecast returns.
Sadly there is no way I will be donating again, not after the last effort.

Re: Sooooo...is the Drabblecast dead..?
I've been quietly expecting/hoping for a return of the drabblecast since it started fizzing out. I think we all admire Norm's new endeavours and so there really isn't any hard feelings. Still, it would've been nice to know that my donation was no longer really doing anything, at least once it became obvious that the changes they made weren't working out. I know they had a shot at transitioning to a new team. If it really returns I'll be renewing my monthly donation.
