Weak eyes, weak hold? I could dig that.
I agree with Bo, though--I think there's a point there. If Sanitee needs his victim to lock eyes with him, and Chronocerous can't focus enough to lock gazes, there could be a problem. If Sanitee was close enough for Chronocerous to focus on him, the rhino would probably just charge, not bothering with glances.
I guess it depends on whether Chrono is near- or far-sighted.
And I've been banking on the "Tanukis too drunk to competently work together for the entirety of the match" line of thinking to keep Sackoon from winning; glad it got brought up.

Sure. The question still remains of how close he'd have to be and whether Chrono would bother to look, I suppose...

eyes and float
My interpretation of the mechanic would be this: the range of eye contact based control is just like that of actual eye contact. From 35 feet away, if I was looking at you, and you at me, we'd share the notion that eye contact is being made, but really couldn't visually distinguish it. The connection wouldn't be certain until the total distance was halved or more. In this way, Sanitee's control would creep in to your mind at such a range, but not yet control it; starting as a quiet, suggestive voice, telling you to move closer, building towards a cacophony of authoritarian commands echoing from all corners of your skull, a kind of mental vibration Novocain that shakes all of reality loose from its hinges. At arm's reach, your stream of consciousness is all but a trickle, radio silence sets in on the EKG, you become no more than an appendage.AynSavoy wrote:The question still remains of how close he'd have to be and whether Chrono would bother to look
If Chrono looks is up to chance. The likelihood is there that he'd just charge horn-first from a distance, to land a killing blow. It'd be all to easy for Sanitee to fall prey to such an attack if he was distracted, head craned struggling for a bond with another competitor.
Sure could. He isn't the fleetest of flipper (movement is "methodical"), but let's not forget Sanitee's "limited telekinetic abilities." While not darting and diving, he's strong enough to float upwards at an angle, or mentally push a leaping competitor off course. He doesn't have the psychic gusto to flip a charging rhino, but he could give him a phantom stiff arm to prevent direct assault. Tact and surprise are necessary factors in felling a free-floating psychic brain'atee.Mr. Tweedy wrote:Can't Sanitee just hover above Chronoceros, out of his reach?

Won't be lending any more forum thoughts for the duration of round 2 - heading off to the Adirondacks for some R&R. Will be launching round 3 remotely if all goes right. If not, things might get slightly delayed in to Monday night. Concepts are in, editor approved, art is drawn (but not computerized), so outlook is good.
Get pumped for the return of my robotic tones via phone message on the podcast. Hope to hear y'all the same way.
Is there any derailing of the Night Owl express? 97 votes!!? We talk up the other guys, but they ain't bringing home bacon. Might just start on a winged demon Owl hybrid on the plane.

Yea, that was my redneck rank. I started with doing a gangsta-style voice, but halfway through in rehearsal it would end up in a redneck voice. So I gave up an re-wrote it in the redneck style.
