C'mon people, enough with the Green-party votes. Those could have been cast to put Morris and the Machine back into serious contention.tbaker2500 wrote:Me neither. Good piece, but not best 'o year. I have to vote for the bloody Mongoose, best story by a country mile.
Re: Vote Here! Best Feature Story
Oh, I see what's happening here. Mongoose fails in MBDM. Sympathy bounce.

I'd love to see somebody try to actually rob Mongoose.Mikes wrote:Hey, Mongoose was robbed!

Re: Vote Here! Best Feature Story
I have to say that the drabblecast production values are the best of any podcast I've listened to. I got Mongoose on a years best Sci Fi short story collection from Audible. But it pales in comparison to the reading Norm and Co gave it.
Top work, brilliant story. I wan't a pet hyperdimensional toothed monster too.

Mongoose owned.
Re: Vote Here! Best Feature Story
No surprise Mongoose is dominating, judging by how many people nominated it. Fantastic story penned by two of my absolute favorite authors (both of them have some awesome novels out, check em out).
Re: Vote Here! Best Feature Story
Mongoose is one of my favorite short Scifi stories of all time. It's the only drabblecast episode (well, 2) that I haven't removed after listening, because I know I'll go back and listen to it again. It's one of the few drabblecast episodes that I've listened to more than twice (I read/listen/watch very few things more than once)
I really want to know more about that universe.
Vote Mongoose 2011!

Morris and the Machine deserves more love.
Great, tight little tale of love and obsession. Bittersweet and with a classic, complete plot -- not one of those hanging endings that seem to escape editors so frequently, these days.
Great story by itself, but the backing soundtrack was worth a relisten too.

You know, that could tip the whole geo-political balance and turn the world sideways if it becomes a trend.

I just signed up for the forums so that I could vote for Mongoose: a story that stuck with me for a long time, and had me on the edge of my seat while it was being read.
Re: Vote Here! Best Feature Story
I just signed up so I could vote for that Sam Elliottesque epic narrative of Clown Hunt.
The history of this great country is writ in the ignorance and coulrophobia of those who settled here, and the traitor Keaton. Runs-with-Scissors shall forever roam these mist-shrouded hills.
Mongoose did not live up to his reputation, unable to defeat even mythical chimeras in a deathmatch, the Muammar Gaddafi of some interplanetary Libya.
Welcome to the forums, LKL.
No hard feelings. When this is over, history will show which ideas prevail. One story will rise to win the 2012 primary, and the other will return to occupying the capitol in Madison.
We shall see.
