MBDM 2012 - Heats - Overview
I wish. I have to thank cricket for getting me to stop watching television. You never know how long the schedule's going to be disrupted in a summer.

Etymologically speaking, I wonder if this is origin of the sense of "Where'd everyone go?" in

I did think about that, but the rules of cricket are not merely stupid, they are STOOPID!!!strawman wrote:ASID is right about the correct analogy being baseball. And although Christi didn't mention it, the analogous game down there is Cricket. Which, if you've ever watched, is to baseball as MBDM is to WWII. Except WWII had more comprehensible rules.
I don’t think introducing the Duckworth Lewis system to Megabeasts is something to be considered! It may have worked in WWII though.

The thing about cricket is that it provides a lot of beer drinking opportunity, and thats what life is about in SA - cricket, beer, rugby (let's not even get started on that) and of course the BRAAI - which is, in itself another beer drinking opportunity.Mikes wrote:I wish. The Drabblecast is in favor of beer drinking opportunities, which is evidenced by MBDM's B-Sides podcast. And the idea of throwing the losers on the barbee suggests another beer-drinking opportunity.Christi wrote:The thing about cricket is that it provides a lot of beer drinking opportunity, and thats what life is about in SA - cricket, beer, rugby (let's not even get started on that) and of course the BRAAI - which is, in itself another beer drinking opportunity.Mikes wrote:I wish. so the rules don't really matter, as long as there is beer and flame grilled meat involved?... sounds about rite.
Sounds like you have a good BBQ Mikes, our BRAAI (because thats what its called) can flame grill you over coals or gas - and can fit an entire cow in it with the horns still attached. Just BEAR that in mind...

How can you tell a South Afrikan from a zombie?
The South Afrikan cooks its Braiins before eating.

Manhoofers sounds like a gay, German cowboy. Or some US midwest band mixing bluegrass with progrock.

The Manhoofers would probably open for Beck.
