The two stories winning so far, Jimmy and Little Grace, are the two most profoundly depressing stories I've heard in a while. I remember when this used to be a weird, happy place!
Remember to smile! :D

I disagree. "Little Grace" has some tough moments, but redeems itself in the end.

The World is an unpleasant place (temporarily glossed over -- for few a lucky few of us -- by the great boons our forebears left us, even as those boons are now all but systematically destroyed). Coping with bad things, and worse actors, with a measure of justice is ultimately more inspiring/rewarding than depressing to me.

A lot of people feel that way. Simply put, I feel that since I deal with this stuff in the real world daily, I don't want my entertainment to be the same. I like to play after work, if you will.
Regardless, it was a well-written story even if I didn't like the subject. :)

Tom, I usually agree with ya bud, but Jimmy's Roadside to me was one of the most uplifting stories of the last year-- not depressing! The selflessness and kindness of Jimmy was all the more moving to me when set against the grim fizzling out of the world around him, IMO.

It must be hard to be a writer/podcast producer. Everybody has their own take. :)

tbaker! Long time indeed. And now I just have a very short time to catch up... A lovely chore though, these nominations suck me right back in the weirdness of the Drabblecast, like I've never been gone. Have I been gone? Maybe I was just living in another simulation... (that is a very smart reference to episode 222, the episode I was listening to before I discovered the 2012 nominations). Great to be back in this simulation though! I sure missed the weird

Whoop whoop! I never would have thought DC needed more weirdness, but I'm glad to help out. Spreading the weird!
