For anyone who's interested, I've posted a "making of" article about the three illustrations I've contributed so far. I laid out how I did each one step by step. http://www.diabolicalplots.com/?p=2207

(Not to steal any thunder from Unblinking, but) Aaron Diaz who creates the Dresden Codak webcomic (which I dearly love) also writes (draws?) a blog on how to create various visual effects, how he arranges and fills the space on the page and so on.http://dresdencodak.tumblr.com/archive/2010/12
It's set out for pretty much amateurs to follow (well, *I* read it and I could follow it fine) and full of great tips and advice.
And, of course, after that (and reading Unblinking's blog - great idea, btw) I heartily recommend people browse through the Dresden Codak webcomic archive http://dresdencodak.com/archives/
Anyway, back to the DARP.......
