I went to check out the new site, but I must be typing it in wrong.
I tried www.drabblecast.org and it redirected to the old web.me site.
I tried www.thedrabblecast.com and it brings up this forum.

Can someone point me to what I'm doing wrong?

Your ISP has cached the old address. It should convert to the new address anytime now.

Danke! To speed up the process, I just cleared my browsing history and that did the trick.

I like the new site. Direct downloads, a design pleasant to the eye. Very nice. :)

For anyone who's interested, I've posted a "making of" article about the three illustrations I've contributed so far. I laid out how I did each one step by step. :)

Hey, that's real neat! Thanks for laying that out. Not being an artist, I enjoy that insight.

(Not to steal any thunder from Unblinking, but) Aaron Diaz who creates the Dresden Codak webcomic (which I dearly love) also writes (draws?) a blog on how to create various visual effects, how he arranges and fills the space on the page and so on.
http://dresdencodak.tumblr.com/archive/2010/12

It's set out for pretty much amateurs to follow (well, *I* read it and I could follow it fine) and full of great tips and advice.

And, of course, after that (and reading Unblinking's blog - great idea, btw) I heartily recommend people browse through the Dresden Codak webcomic archive http://dresdencodak.com/archives/

Anyway, back to the DARP.......

This isn't really about the art parts of the site but I noticed there isn't a date showing for each episode.
On the side panel there isn't, as far as I can see, any way to search back by month/year so having the date that each episode is published would be quite helpful, especially for new listeners/visitors to the new, spangly site who will have less idea of when different episodes were put out.

Hm. Yea, we ripped out dates early on, along with much of the standard wordpress formatting. It's easy to put date back in, but I'd have to have Bo make it look pretty.

Now- do you really want the month/year archive list on the sidebar? I shy away from it myself, but lets hear what you think.

The dates we have are still the real, original dates right? No one cares if they're all our wordpress upload dates (AKA 200 posts dated August 2011).

I don't want the month by month breakdown listed on the main page, as I believe we begin to move towards a point of 'links overload.' When you're inside the 'episodes' page, there I could see it.

Usually web sites with large amounts of records have a separate 'browse' page sitting alongside their standard 'search' page. It contains options for alphabetical or chronological sorting. I mulled it for us, but as we two went along, it seemed the default episode number and keyword search sufficed. Now that actual users are seeing, maybe the demand is there. Something to think over, certainly.

Yes, I've made sure that all episodes maintain original publish dates.

I agree with not having a 'year/month/whatever' set of links on the side, especially since there is already a list of categories, the search box, etc.

What I meant about the dates was, since when someone looks at the Drabblecast page there isn't anything (at least not that I can see) in with the info about the episode(s) and the art thumbnail to show when the episode aired.

Especially for new listeners, it isn't even clear if the Drabblecast is a weekly/monthly/fortnightly podcast......

It's not a huge issue, and I'm sure that there are other more important things needing done at the moment, but when it comes to the final tweaking and finessing, having the 'air date' for each ep would be really nifty.

Yeh, completely makes sense. When you have time Tom, can you get that line, the published date, in to the loop.php / single loop?
