DARP Refresh

The first anniversary of the Drabblecast Art Reclamation Project (DARP), is upon us. Many excellent covers have come of this project, and we're within striking distance of its completion.

There are though certain episode claims that have gone a year's time without being attended to - AKA no correspondence from artists, or produced imagery. I feel after this amount of time, action is necessary.

I'm posting this announcement in lieu of a berjillion individual emails. As of July 1st, all DARP claims will be released. If you have an episode claim bearing you name, and baby you wish to retain, contact bo@drabblecast.org, dang. Otherwise it goes back to the pool!

Check http://bokaier.com/reclamation/ Sunday for the refreshed master list of available episodes. Remember, all artists are welcome to participate, send me an email, get started, it's that easy.

What if you're a performance artist? Poet?

Still photo from their piece. Poets can go jump off a bridge - visual artists only.

Wouldn't they then become visual art?

Someone has to capture their fall, otherwise there is no episode cover. Not that we have any episodes where a bridge suicide would be an adequate depiction of the content.

And yes, if the poet rigs something up to capture the fall, he/she becomes a visual artist. Art taints us all!

But really, do you want to get in to an art theory discussion bro? It's like a stay at the Overlook Hotel: madness and murder ensues.

I did a cover for Kevin David Anderson's Momentum last night. Yes, left to my own devices, I will finish all 31 myself.

Is setting off a nuclear device and capping the electromagnetic field a suitable form of art?

Art imitates life imitates art:
'Twas ever true.
But the life of an artist,
It doesn't rhyme for no good reason.
